He solved a major problem in world mathematics, for which, on his own initiative, he created a new scientific method in topology and Riemannian geometry.

Since 1995, he has been the Head of the NGO "Petersburg Union of Pensioners" as Chairman of the Board.
In four convocations of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg, he was elected Chairman of the Legislative Assembly's Commission on Urban Planning and Land, where he worked with Vladimir Putin, Dmitry Kozak, G.O. Gref, and V.I. Matvienko.
From 2014 to the present, he has been working in the highest state authorities of the Russian Federation: the State Duma and the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.
